DIY projects - I am planning this year.

I informed my husband today that I want him to build a version of this hutch for me:

I of course have to find the doors...  the hard part... then a place to put it... but it is totally do-able, he is pretty handy.

I also need to re-purpose some Ikea furniture like this! Again need to find somewhere to put it...but I could do this one by myself! Plus our headboard is not from PB but looks just exactly like this one.

Great project from here originally even though I found it via the link above and couldn't find as many project details on Aubry and Lindsay's site since it moved but I might not have looked hard enough.

Do a fabric wall collage - totally cheaper than vinyl - and way more reliable that me trying to free paint something or stencil (do people still stencil?). Plus I see fabric I totally adore all the time! Who doesn't love to collage? This one is from IkeaHacker

Bring some bright shutters into the house -  to put inspiration and notes on - can't get an cheaper than shutters! Think of all the funky colors you can paint them...The one below is from Apartment Therapy  but this blog post - Pearls, Handcuffs, and Happy Hour - is what made me think of them.

Finally, and this is something I need to explore more - we have been considering getting rid of our desktop computer and re-purposing the cabinet it is in. Then we would still need a place to put a printer right - and if we have it in our bedroom a place to 'hide' a printer. I am a very surf the web on the couch person anyway, so we don't really need a desk - we have a great kitchen table for real work. So I am trying to think of something creative to put a printer inside. That is fairly short. We have huge windows along our entire bedroom and it needs to go under them. Maybe a sewing table, or a small cabinet of some kind...

Any ideas?
